I visited Inova Emergency Today and was truly amazed by the care I received. The service was excellent, but what left the biggest impact was meeting Dr. Matthew Cotham, MD. In my 30 years, I have never come across such an amazing doctor. He truly listened, explained everything with patience, and treated me with genuine respect and care. Too often doctors make you feel like just a number, but Dr. Cotham made me feel like a person. God bless him — he is the definition of what a real doctor should be.

I recently had to go to the emergency room in the middle of the night, and it was the most pleasant, efficient, and helpful experience you can imagine. We were seen so quickly and all the staff were very helpful.

I came here because I have severe back pain after a car accident and it was just a big waste of time. They said I may have a herniated disk and asked if I wanted something for the pain after I had been stuck waiting in the hall for nearly 2 hours. Of course I said yes. They sent me for a CT scan and then afterward said CT scans don't usually show if you have a herniated disk, you'd need an MRI for that. Why did they give me a CT scan instead of an MRI?
