This bar draws a pretty scruffy crowd of late-night drinkers and wanderers from the nearby Land of Nod, a lonely group of holdovers who still cling to the faith that Wicker Park is an artists' haven. The jukebox is usually blaring Hank Williams or Johnny Cash as you drown your troubles. There is a somewhat hidden back room. Some of the more serious adventurers among you may want to wander in there after your second or third drink.

Tuesday hangout – This bar is the best place in the neighborhood. Well priced beverages and bartenders that serve you with a smile not an attitude. Sure it's dark. How do you think the casinos in Vegas stay in business. and just like Vegas this bar is the home of Elvis. Posters, prints and velvet Elvis' abound. The owner kinda looks like the king and will buy a drink for most of the pretty girls that walk in. Open mic on Thursdays and Sundays is good time or miss(most open mikes are), but Tuesdays are alway a blast. They hav... read more

Well-preserved but unfussy living museum of Chicago tavern history in Ukrainian Village. – In Short Only the occasional sliver of natural light manages to penetrate the dark interior of this treasure box of smoke-layered tchotchkes. A speakeasy during Prohibition days, the place has been kept alive by its neighborhood clientele--once Polish and now bohemian--who sit at the bar under prints of familiar paintings like Rembrandt's "Young Girl at an Open Half-Door" while drinking pints of Spaten and PBR.
a great little back street boozer – excellent back street pub great service , really made to feel welcome and great service , the beer was very smooth . once you have acclimatized to the dark surroundings this place really grows on you , thanks for making us feel so welcome during our visit from england .
The best of the West (Town) – The architecture is at least 70 years old, the bartenders are young, good-looking and friendly (not to meantion generous), the pool table is free and the crowd is eclectic and friendly. For your dollar and your spirit, this is one of the best places in town, let alone in the WickerBuckVillage area. Great juke, great people. Your reviewer is dead wrong, the only 'stench' is from the occasional neo-yuppie stinking up the place, but most of them know better.
