most romantic restaurant in the city – The good first: the waitstaff is really helpful, the food is healthy and the ambience is to die for. It's so lush, so romantic -- there are always proposals happening when I eat here. It feels enchanted, almost. The bad: the food is pretty gross. It's healthy, yes, but healthy isn't that exciting when your food tastes legitimately bad. The tofu duck is DISGUSTING. I like fake meat but this was nasty. I still like this restaurant, though, because the setting is so unique; it's perfect fo... read more
Very disappointed. Argued with owner... – They believe that the customer is wrong... that is not how business is done in LA. I dont believe they are still in business with an attitude like this. Setting was decent but not the service and the unpleasant owner. A no go!
horrible service from the waiter to the owner! – Slow service, seating and bad service overall. Dont take a chance like this...
romantic setting with good food – i heard some really good reviews and went to check the place out for an anniversary dinner. the service was really good and the filet and chicken were out of this world! servers seemed very interested in making sure we were happy. the only thing i didn't like was the table we were seated at seemed kind of unstable and the chairs were a struggle to move.
good but not great – hi, nice location but in my humble opinion a little overrated as far as the food is concerned then again it was valentines and the quality all over drops due to quantity. nice presentation, nice atmosphere, remember liking the soup more then the entree maybe i should try them again and keep you posted
Someplace different – Well I finally made it up to this Long standing LA oasis and wow, Leave the city behind for the night. Just fifteen minutes from Santa monica the restaurant feels like a completely different world. the service was warm and friendly, the food outstanding. Definately worth a trip up the hill
great view, so-so food – we came here for my birthday once, and when speaking of the surroundings and ambience, you can't get much better. the food, on the other hand, could use some improvement. all the food seemed to be a little...blah. nicely presented, but pretty bland. maybe their leaning towards a vegetarian/organic menu overshadows their leaning towards TASTE. otherwise, you can sit in one of their nice booths in a rock or at a table, look at the nature around you, watch the coyotes, or deer or the 10 cats they have w... read more
a glimpse of heaven – This memory will last forever....the pure food without the contaminents to drag you down afterwards you leave, the excitement in a menu of creative dinning, the lights, the frogs, the coyotes, the joy on the wait staff's faces....this is not just a job for them. Our waitress lives their menu and sensed our needs before we did. We could have stayed all night. They give no sense of rushing you. This is a place to commune.
Come for the view.. – not for the food or service. I've been here 3 times spread over a 10 year period, every time hoping things have changed. It is a beautiful location, but so is going for a hike. At least then you can bring along food that is tasty, cheap and properly prepared!
