About this business

Inn at the Old Jail is an award-collecting modern guesthouse built into a national historic landmark in Tremé, New Orleans. The cityâ??s most elegant Queen Anne Victorian was originally home to an NOPD police jail & patrol station, then a library, then a community center, then abandoned ruins of Hurricane Katrina. Completed in 1902 as an overnight lockup for neighborhood offenders and juvenile delinquents, our jailhouse has been impeccably restored into a historic New Orleans boutique hotel with nine uniqu... read more

My husband and I just got back from a wonderful long weekend in New Orleans with lifelong friends. Great sightseeing - town tour, WWII museum, trip to the Whitney plantation, to name a few, as well as delicious food. However, ranking up there with the top of the list was The Inn at the Old Jail in the Treme neighborhood. From the moment we walked through those big, jail-like doors, we were mesmerized!!! We couldn't STOP taking pictures and learning about this fabulous Inn! There's sooooooooooo much history, rich history in that place! It's decorated phenomenally and just captivates and demands your attention and we gladly gave it!! I honestly didn't want to leave! Todd is a doll! Very helpful, kind and real!! We will absolutely be back next Mardi Gras!!! Thanks again Todd!!!

stayed here during the superbowl! the rooms were fantastic, host was very responsive. it is 2 miles from the stadium so if you desired you could walk it in an hour. the location is more like an airbnb rather than a hotel. they give you a code to get in, there isn't a host on site, and the "breakfast" just a breakfast danish / fruit. overall thought it was a lovely stay.

We had our wedding here, and it was the absolute best decision we made besides, well, getting married! First and foremost, Todd is an incredible host. He was always quick to answer questions, offer workarounds to last-minute hurdles, and recommend outstanding vendors who were well-suited to the Inn! Second, the rooms and common areas were beautiful. The moment you walk through the big front doors, there is an undeniable wow factor. There was not a single guest at our wedding who was not charmed by the accommodations. Third, ... read more
