My wife and I stayed in the suite on the third floor. We were able to see the ships coming up and down the canal as well as the beautiful marinas from our suite. The facilities were clean. Everyone was very friendly. We enjoyed talking to Ed the hotel owner and operator. Overall, it was a very good experience. Our main activity was riding our bikes on the trail that goes from Chesapeake city to Delaware city. The round-trip is 30 miles round trip and fairly flat. It was a great ride and a nice paved trail.

My husband and I stayed here over our wedding weekend in Chesapeake City and had the best experience! The accommodations were wonderful and we absolutely loved the Rummur Lounge downstairs.

Great location for this "bed and bar" (no breakfast but we got vouchers for Cafe on the Bay right across the street). Able to walk everywhere. Our room was on the 3rd floor. Lots of steps to get there but a lovely suite with a balcony! Loved going to the Rummur Lounge in the rear yard. Great drinks and entertainment! We are also able to meet the owners who were very welcoming. Definitely would recommend staying here!

The Inn at the Canal has an old feel. If you are looking for modern or lots of amenities, you may be disappointed. The rooms are clean but limited. They do leave you a courtesy coupon for a free coffee and breakfast sandwich for the coffee shop across the street but I would have enjoyed it a lot more if they could have provided ... read more

Here's what you can expect: on summer weekends, this is a live music bar with an inn attached. The setting is lovely and close to several nice restaurants, the harbor and canal paths. The owner is friendly and staff is ready and willing to help. Breakfast--a breakfast sandwich and a coffee--is offered at the cafe across the street, for which you are issued a coupon for a set dollar amount. Parking in the town is free except where reserved for residents. The weekend we visited, the backyard rum garden bar "Rummers" was crowde... read more
