I spent several days/nights at this hotel during the unpresedented ice storm last weekend on the northern Michigan area. The entire northern part of the state was/still is without power. The Inn was able to use a generator to heat and light common areas but rooms had no heat or electricity. The reason for this review is to heap a huge amount of praise and thanks on the staff during this period of time. Spa: does NOT have amenities to use prior or after a service, just a non-private co-ed waiting room off the storefront floor. You can hear the staff on the phone, the nail salon chatter and store guests. A group tour even came through while I was sitting there in my robe-not cool. Not my idea of relaxing. Tea and chocolate was available. Rooms: Old but kept maintained. Our shower had mold in corners. Service: Above par. Attentive front desk staff, quick to provide help. Very nice, professional atmosphere
My wife and I have traveled extensively and this is hands-down one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at. Especially how friendly the staff is! From the room staff to the doorman to the restaurant staff these folks are top-notch!
