Amazing facility, clean and plenty of parking. Beach was clean, water was clear. You could see Chicago across the lake. Bring the kids this place is great!!
West Beach is a wonderful place to visit Lake Michigan. We got there about 1300 hours and stayed until sunset. Being it was late September the beach was not crowded, allowing us to camp out near the water. It was in the high 80's so we quickly applied sun screen. The water temp was 68⁰ and even though that is a low temperature, it was refreshing to be in the water. The staff was very nice and helpful. The beach was beautiful. The only issue I would bring up is that it's not the most accessible beach. There is a small building with bathrooms and not much else at the parking lot, where there aren't many handicapped spaces. It's a small hike to the larger beach facility, which has showers (they were closed as we were there in the off-season).
