In this case “Independent” means still requires supervision. This man scammed and rushed me into paying $5100 to replace a catalytic converter in my car. By rushed, I mean he called me late in the evening, and said that “I had to jump on this parts deal while I could because the person selling them was going on vacation and the deal wouldn’t be available after he left.” And, I would need to pay that night 1/2 to get things going (happy to pull out the call logs). Very unprofessional, you call a mechanic to fix your car. Not partial fix it. My ball joint came out while driving. So I payed Nigel $150 to come see the issue with my car. And he told me his exact words “Lower and upper control arms with ball joints (driver side and passenger side) I know I said ball joints only but just get the control arms for that side too” so I ended up getting all that.
