What I got out of the training were the tools and the confidence to create dignified, powerful, and peaceful ways of verbally and physically defending myself. I also got that although the world is unsafe sometimes, I do not have to be afraid and unsafe in it. I can be responsible for creating personal safety by preparing myself to handle it with skill, honor, and self-respect. Impact is about so much more than self defense. Impact is about communication, boundaries, confidence, and empowering those who have, at one point or another, felt powerless. Critical examination of the culture in which we live, balanced with accessible physical skills is what sets Impact apart from other self defense organizations.
