Larry/Illi's has been my mechanic for 20+ years. After my first visit I was hooked, because he always explained everything in a way that a non auto person could understand it, would offer other solutions to solve a problem if the first/best solution was too expensive for a broke student like me, and was just always friendly. Had a really good experience—Really felt like Larry went out of his way to fit me in, even though he was basically booked solid. Very reasonable price for the work, which was done well AND done quickly.
Larry and his mechanics consistently provide stellar service at a fair price.
The power steering on my brother's Jeep Patriot went out just as he arrived in Ann Arbor for a Labor Day visit. We didn't want him to drive back to Kalamazoo with auto issues, so I called around local mechanics to try to find somewhere that could help us quickly, knowing it'd be tough coming out of a holiday weekend. The owner Larry was so kind and helpful, and was able to locate the issue, order a replacement part, and do the repair in just a few days.
