I called in a panic immediately after the incident and managed to drive to the hospital and was still waiting to be connected with a human. It was 25mins until the call disconnected because I ran out of my vehicle into the ER. Who knows how long it really would have been had I tried waiting for them to answer while I was still at home.

Not to be counted on in an emergency. Was on hold for 20.4 minutes. From soon after incident happened to our arrival with child at Emergency Room. Very disappointed and frankly scared if non service is the mode now.

I called up because we don’t have a poison control centre in the UK with a free hotline and I just want to say, the woman who picked up my call was the nicest person. To be freaking out at 3am because I was worried I’d overdosed on cold & flu nasal spray and to have such a lovely, knowledgeable person be so kind and informative even though I’m not even from the USA was a godsend at that hour. SAMIA. This woman was the nicest, most caring, compassionate person when I called in for help because I had overdosed accidentally on a nasal decongestant. I was freaking out when I called because I was feeling very disoriented and she made sure to 1) rely accurate and factual information quickly and comprehensibly 2) ensure emotional safety by reassuring me in a considerate manner which helped me calm down & 3) even called back to make sure that i was alright & not in danger.
