Quite obviously, the office does NOTHING for consumers and has been DOING nothing to advocate for Illinois citizens for years now. This is why current premiums are egregiously high (...because insurers are being allowed to be more rapacious than ever before) and why companies are not being held to account for what they are responsible. Thanks to J.B. Pritzker, Bruce Rauner, et al.!
Craig, I believe at the Chicago office, is the absolute best. He answered all my questions proffessionally and courteously. Craig shows that the IDOI can be your best advocate.
IDOI accepts misrepresentations from an insurance carrier's responses to complaints as cause to close any citizen's complaint. IDOI was NO help whatsoever at resolving issues with a bad Allstate insurance agent and their staff, causing delays in coverage for my small business, and then ultimately, no coverage at all.
No help at all with resolving a formal complaint against an Allstate agent. So why does this department even exist?
Absolutely no help at all for consumers. Basically allow the insurance companies to rip us off.
