Great Cal-talian in the neighborhood This is the mid-peninsula outpost of the hugely successful Il Fornaio mini-chain. It has good food, great service and perfect atmosphere. It is without question our daughter's favorite restaurant. She enjoys the energy of the place, the fact that there are often other kids there and the bread sticks, of course. We enjoy the Salad Del Fornaio, the grilled salmon and, of course, the Tiramisu. It's busy, so reserve on Open Table.
Delicioso! I mostly like the bakery part of this restaurant, because I'm a big bread fan and I have the biggest sweet tooth you'll ever see (if that made any sense :}. Anyways, if you love baguettes, this is the place to get some nice, hot ones. They're not like the ordinary supermarket ones. These ones TASTE like baguettes. il fornaio this is an italian restuarant with a bakery inside it. if it's a nice day on burlingame ave, which it usually is, you can eat by the windows that fully open to have a somewhat outdoor meal. i believe there are even tables outside. i ate here for my parents' anniversay and we all enjoyed ourselves.
Bad experience I had dinner here with a bunch of friend's for my college graduation party and it turned out horrible. The waiter took everyone's drink order but mine, messed up numerous orders, charged us for our "free" dessert and tried to rush us. Not cool. PROS: CONS: Terrible service and the food wasn't good either
The sandwiches are great! The people who are helping are vey courteous and efficient. Will recommend it.
Took my girlfriend and all employees were friendly and patient. Got a free antre because I ordered the wrong one! Highly recommend.
One of the best!! – I don't know what some of the others were talking about in there reviews but they were so wrong about this restaurant. It was some of the best food i have ever had. the price was just right for us. My server was knowledgeable in the great wine they had and was able to help us choose the right wine to go with our dinner. Was a little loud, but its a busy place with many people so we understood. We can wait to go back and bring friends!
loud cafeteria-like atmosphere, food is average or less than average – First off, this place doesn't deserve three stars, but 2 seemed too low. 2.5 would be more appropriate. I've been here many times because my friends seem to always want to eat here. I've decided that it's time to veto their selection.
