I always like coming to this ikea, since it's so close to home. I always enjoy looking at the new furniture and other things for my home.

I love being local to this store! It's a madhouse on weekends but when the new larger location opens next spring the congestion in the store and parking lot should ease! Slated to be the largest IKEA store in all of North America! It's fun to check the as-is section for DIY projects or a great deal on a display item!

I will start by saying I'm a long time shopper with IKEA!! I love the furniture and prices compared to the "big box" stores. That being said, my trip to IKEA in Charlotte, SC was the WORST ever!!!!! First, half of the items I was looking for were out of stock (even after I checked the internet for availability). Second, and more importantly, the staff is very unhelpful, uneducated about products and just flat out rude. I had to ask several questions in which every time I asked an employee for information or help their reacti... read more

This place is a zoo, and I'm not keen on the wafting smell of Swedish meatballs that permeates the second floor. The parking garage is also rather far from the pick-up area, making buying larger items something of a pain. (Don't even get me started on putting the furniture together.)

I went to buy an armoire and was assured that all the parts were in stock. I paid for next day delivery and when I unpacked, I discovered that the doors were missing. I called the contact number, went through an infinite number of menus and after 30 minutes talked to a human being who said "No, they didn't have the doors." My realtor called, waited 46 minutes and, after insisting, was told that the store would get the doors today from another store and would call me to schedule a delivery. It is almost midnight and I haven't... read more

The worst customer service I have ever encountered anywhere from any store. Try to call them. You can't. The just want your money and could care less about you after the sale.

I am now having a nightmare of a kitchen delivery experience with IKEA. The after-sales process is simply amazingly terrible. And no one at IKEA College Park will take responsibility for missing 1/2 of our $10K order on the truck. No one will return our calls or emails. If you have a home in Virginia, use the Potomac Mills store, as the staff in Maryland will not support a Virginia installation. It will cost more, but go to a reputable kitchen planner and builder instead of IKEA. What a mistake I made.

Don't buy a mattress from Ikea. They told me how good it was and that I could return it if I don't like it, no problem - wrong. The quality sucks, it starts sagging within two weeks of sleeping on it, and some chemicals in it screws with my eyes. Try to return it, they won't give your money back, only store credit. They don't tell you that until after the purchase. Cheap prices, super cheap quality, even cheaper customer service.

When it comes to Ikea, you just try to go to the closest one. In this case, that means the worst parking situation ever, to the point where you almost die in the parking lot. Once you get inside, it's not so bad, very crowded but decent displays and selection. Most everything is usually in Stock. The sales staff are pretty helpful.
