This was our first time attending the Idaho Potato Drop and honestly, we didn't have high expectations, but they were totally blown away, quite literally. We had such a great time. The atmosphere was electric, the main stage music was a lot of fun, the host was a blast and made us laugh a bunch, and those fireworks were seriously the best fireworks we have EVER seen, and I'm even including DISNEY in there. Year after a year they fail to clean up after themselves and their trash is left for months downtown in Boise. Saw it with my own eyes; I attached a pic from January 8 2025 and that trash remained for much longer. I was already upset last year when trash was left for months downtown on the grass and gutters.. and this year negligence with pyrotechnics blowing out building windows and sending a girl to the hospital... And Idaho Potato Drop has yet to issue a statement.
We had a blast and met all sorts of fun and interesting people in VIP! Soo worth the money to be able to stay warm while enjoying the festivities! I loved the meat and potatoes, soooo good! I could’ve ate three plates but I wanted to make sure there was enough to go around. Great time all around. I loved the quirky event and will definitely do it again!

VIP tent tickets were not worth the cost. It was nice to be in the heated tent, but the "unlimited appetizers" consisted of meat and potatoes, and that was all; not he kind of variety the description would imply. Drinks were reasonably priced, but for the cost of the VIP ticket, at least two drinks per person would be more reasonable. If the Commission picks the bands, that would be another issue.
