This port of call turned out to be our best for wildlife viewing as we saw many bald eagles, steller sea lions, deer, starfish and humpback whales throughout the day. We walked the coast line, took the $10 shuttle and explored Hoonah, rode the free green gondola and paid to ride the red gondola and zip lines. We did not take the whale tour excursion, as we saw them from the ship, gangway and shore! Great views and scenery throughout the day. Only negative, the high price for the zip line and food. Nice little area to walk around in Hoonah, Alaska. Try the Bloody Mary..the best I've ever had!! Phenomenal crab too!
Really interesting place to visit. Lots to do including kayaking around Icy Strait Point looking for wildlife and learning about the area
