This was one of the great research facilities in the world. Unfortunately, it is shut down and in the process of being emptied out. Let's hope for a successful next phase for this amazing place, where Don Eigler moved the first atoms and William Moerner did his Nobel Prize work on single molecule spectroscopy. Also the place where the world's smallest movie was created: A Boy and his Atom.
Beautiful place to visit and Hike, very panoramic view of both mountains. Mount Umunhum and Mount Hamilton.
So sad this lab is shutting down. I will miss it here.
