I had a wonderful experience with the entire staff and especially Dr. Tafel. He is very skilled and took time to answer all my questions. I had a great outcome from my cervical spine surgery. I would definitely use him again if I ever need surgery.
I feel like a new person after Dr Tafel performed a L3-4-5 fusion. I was 95% pain free within a week following mysurgery. He is one of the most kind surgeons I've ever met. His education and qualifications are exceptional. My surgical site had minimal trauma and healed extremely well due to a "vacuum" wound covering. Dr Tafel performed anterior cervical surgery on me in October of 2024. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr Tafel, his staff and the entire experience. I highly recommend Dr Tafel and would not hesitate to have surgery performed by him again in the future. His assistant Brooke is also an amazing person, knowledgeable and professional. I cannot thank Dr Tafel enough for relieving my pain and resolving my issues.
Dr. Tafel performed a lumbar fusion in February of 2023. I was doing so well, then I fell twice loosening the screws in my fusion. I began feeling excruciating pain in my left ankle. Because I was 79 years old I did not want surgery again so I went to pain management for months, which did not help. Finally in August I asked for another surgery. On May 24th 2024 I went into Halifax hospital under Dr tafel care. I had lost the use of my right leg and had a crushed disc in my back. This was a life-changing surgery for me being 70 years old but very active. 6 months later now I am much stronger and almost back to completely normal.
