Amazing amazing amazing amazing. I haven’t had my hair straightened since 2016 and am terrified of flat irons! Kanya is so so kind! She was very patient with me and made sure I was okay. She explained how to maintain my style and gave me tips on how to take better care of my hair. They are allergy friendly! If you’re allergic to tree nuts they can accommodate! It’s so chill and nice in there and all the other stylists are nice too! The last two pics are from day 2. I got a Full Service Silk Press in May 2023
The first pic is from January 2025 and the second is from today. All the stylists are skilled, knowledgeable, and really nice! I don’t always get a silk press but when I do I make sure it’s by Kanya . I’ve been visiting for about 2 years and this is probably my 5th silk press and my hair has never been healthier. I’ve never had any damage or burns and the curls bounce back the next wash day even better than the last. Absolutely amazing from start to finish! This is my first time ever having my hair cared for with such love, intention and knowledge! Darlene went above and beyond to make sure my hair felt nourished and rejuvenated! I am so proud to be a part of the I am Nubian community and I greatly look forward to many future appointments!

I had a wonderful experience ! I’ve been looking for a natural hair salon in queens and was recommended to go to I am Nubian salon. Firstly the salon was clean , stylists professional and friendly most seemed to be knowledgeable about type 4 hair . Nadine was a sweetheart, easy and gentle with my texture and gave a nice simple two strand twist that I was very pleased with. The washing was amazing adding the steam treatment !
