I recently bought cars from two different Hyundai dealers. However, El Cajon Hyundai had a 1.5 percent higher interest rate than other places even though my credit score was over 800, and forced me to purchase a service package or GPS system. I stuck with it and didn't buy any unnecessary service contracts or GPS. My experience with this place was not good and I would not recommend it. Overall bad experience. I bought a 2024 Jetta, 9k miles, by the 3rd day of driving the car the check engine light appeared ok my dash board. I called Hyundai service dept. and I was told that I could take it to any Volkswagen dealership since the vehicle was under warranty. South Bay Volkswagen was great, serviced my vehicle and provide me with a loan car for the day. Engine failed around 100k miles. Hyundai covered 75% of the replacement (out of pocket still cost me 3k). Less than a year later I’m experiencing numerous issues with other parts of the vehicle, such as the catalytic converter, that are directly related to the failed engine. Hyundai said I’m on my own. As a loyal Hyundai owner, this is my final Hyundai.
