Established by the Kryskill family, a younger generation of which still runs the place, the restaurant offers fantastic American cuisine with French accents. Avoid – The Hyeholde, as most reviewers have commented, is vastly overpriced - with very average food. The service is prompt and polite, however the ambience of the place is stuffy and very outdated. Save your money and go elsewhere!
Nestled on four acres, New American cuisine and elegant ambiance always provide a romantic experience. – The Scene Valets graciously relieve guests of their cars under the front arch. Don't Waste Your Time or Money! – This restaurant is extremely overrated! It is poorly managed from the dining room all the way back to the kitchen. Rumor is the famous "Sherry Bisque" is made of Campbell's tomato & split pea soup! They consistently cut corners, which isn't fair to a customer paying an average of $55.00 for a dinner that is less than fine dining. Spend your hard-earned money at a restaurant that truly cares about you.
Bring your wallet! – Best atmosphere around! However way overpriced for what you get. Food was great however, alittle more goes along way. Waitstaff connot be topped, efficient without being intrusive. Never felt rushed or a bother to the staff. Desserts, Desserts, Dessrts!
where's the beef? – Since changing owners the Hyeholde has gone downhill. The serving size is meager and the prices too high. They are getting by on the old reputation. The last time we ate there, we went to Montour Hts. afterward and had dinner.
Pricey though confined – Have been there for lunch celebrations several times and I still feel confined at times. There is something to the old charm though the dress of the servers are somewhat from the olden times. The menu prices seem pricey though I must admit that the food there is great and would b ehard to find elsewhere. Service is excellent.
Great for Vegetarians – The vegetarian plate was wonderful! Creative and fresh, it utilized many of the fresh vegetables of the season.
Not worth the Drive or Money – The Hyeholde Restaurant is one of the most overrated, overpriced restaraunts in the city. If you are under the age of 60, you probably will not see, anyone else your age. My one word of advice, don't go there. You'll drop over $100 and wonder what you spent it on.
