I don’t even know where to begin with Hydro Ottawa. For a company that calls itself a utility, they act more like a faceless corporation, even worst, it hides behind call centres and excuses. In 2018, they spent an estimated $4.5 million on a building that was supposed to improve customer service here in the city (and it did before COVID) . Why does Hydro Ottawa bill me twice for one invoice? Literally just stealing money from me. They're a huge organization this is inexcusable.
One star is in relation to the trimming of privately owned trees subcontracted by Hydro. Hydro itself does great work maintaining our lines. Privately owned (often invasive) trees that are planted in the Hydro easements, not maintained by the owners and keep growing into the Hydro wires, put all at risk of power outages and Hydro staff at risk of extra work / long hours (costly).
