My friend had recommended Hyde Park Animal Hospital. I decided to give it a chance. I really enjoyed the care that I was receiving here. Until I noticed a pattern with my visits. It seemed that they added little fees to my bill each visit. It just kept getting more and more expensive. They wouldn't take my dog's insurance either. Dr. Mintzer is really rude too. On December 4th 2025 I had to bring my cat in for an emergency appointment that ended up resulting in her needing to be euthanized. Something I never imagined having to do. She came in, in very fragile condition. Dr Mintzer was very honest patient and compassionate with me, and laid all the options out on the table clearly with realistic expectations. Was told my dog needed immediate surgery and not doing so would be fatal. Was told to be there when the doors open the following day to be turned down for service because thw vet "didnt come in". Left in the parking lot with my dying dog and 8 year old I was able to sort through and call 15+ vets to get my dog in for surgery. Not much help from this place. Not much concern. All good. Luckily I was able to get it sorted without them!
