This man is an exceptional surgeon. He deserves another star!
My dad had his liver lacerated after having open-heart surgery. Dr. Hyde repaired his liver and saved his life. Surgery happened right before the weekend. He was not scheduled for the weekend but returned to do the next procedure on Sunday. Dr. Hyde always checked on my dad, spoke to him with compassion and talked with him "man to man," which allowed my dad to feel respected. We were blessed that he was the on duty when this happened to my dad.
Dr Hyde is certainly a good surgeon but he is fearful of giving any pain medication, even after surgery. After gall bladder removed, he refused to provide hydrocodeine, leaving my friend in great pain for days. Instead, he provided Tramadol which is for moderate pain, and is oftentimes taken for arthritis. This does not help with pain when recovering from surgery. For this reason my friend cannot sleep and is having a more difficult, and painful, recovery than is necessary.
I went in so nervous and left feeling very comfortable. He will be performing my gallbladder removal. Amazing bedside manner and answered all my questions. I am thankful.
Dr Hyde operated on my wife removing her spleen due to a gastric leak that 2 other surgeon had not been to find much less fixed. Excellent bedside manner taking time to inform us exactly what was going on.
