Hux Grocery Hux Grocery has to be the last of the local owned grocery stores. You can find all sorts of southern specialties, good local produce and fresh vegetables. The prices are not high, the staff is helpful and knowledgeable. It's a shame the small grocery stores are having to shut down since it's nice to shop where people know you.
An era gone by Hux Grocery must be the last of a dying breed - the country store. This must be the only place in America where you can find cooked chitterlings, horehound candy, hoop cheese, moon pies, fresh pork rinds - the list goes on. I think they even had 2 for a penny cookies but I'm not sure. It's sort of a grocery store where food items are weighed on a scale before you and a take out restaurant. I felt crowded because there is so much "stuff." I must admit, the food was good.
