Went in to cash a tax refund check the guy said it was to much and had to be deposited 500 will be available same day and the remaining amount the next business day it is not available and I have bills to pay called customer service whom told me to go in person the same guy helped me and was completely rude I told him this is an IRS check if you need to verify the check use the USA treasury verification code he said to me we're not doing all of that the check will be available when a available which is 5 days from now 🤦‍♀️�... read more

I had a good experience. They saved me from possible fraud. If they have certain rules it may be from industry regulation or to protect you.

TL;DR: DO NOT BANK WITH HUNTINGTON. My husband and I opened a joint account with this bank on February 2nd. That same day, we deposited a $6,500 insurance check that was made out to me, my husband, and our mortgage company. The bank accepted the deposit without issue but informed us the funds would require approval from the mortgage company before they could be released.
