Overall Steamfest is a very good event however three things happened in 2025 that ruined the event. One of the stands was selling ribbons and badges to support families of service persons killed or injured in action. They were put next to a gate that needed to be opened and shut each time a steam engine came through. The organisers expected a severely disabled gold card veteran to do this task, that is a national disgrace and the organising committee should be removed permanently !!! Steamfest is such a unique and fun experience! The atmosphere was incredible, with the sound of steam engines chugging along and the smell of coal in the air giving it a nostalgic, old-world charm. The heritage train rides were definitely a highlight—so well organized and a real treat for train lovers of all ages. The event had a great mix of vintage displays, market stalls, food trucks, and live entertainment. 5 minutes here and already find the tfnsw unfriendly, unhelpful, and unpleasant to older kids. What a disgrace.
