Hunter's round, cup-shaped carbide inserts are hands down the best SLICING (versus scraping) carbides obtainable for wood-turning tools. Because of their unique geometry, they can actually simulate a freshly sharpened bowl gouge (that takes forever and a day to go dull, whereupon you simply rotate the cutter). No other carbide tool mfr can figure this out. The videos of the tools in action would better serve we users, if the finished cuts in side, end and face grain were zoomed in, so we could see the finish quality.
I bought the Hunter KORPRO cartridge for my OneWay EasyCore. My first core with it was a very old, dry and hard Big Leaf Maple burl. I knew this would be much more challenging than wet green wood, so I bought the KORPRO. It works fantastic. Everyone I know that has a Hunter tool raves about how well it cuts. The customer service is exceptional.
