Would not recommend Dr Russo, very quickly looked though my case. I think he passed me off as soon as I listed my multiple chronic illnesses. He said I have low sensitivity to pain and referred me to his phycologist friend. I already see a Psychiatrist and therapist so not sure the point of that. 🫠He told me I need to stop eating sugar, go on a keto diet to loose weight. Dr Russo and his team are wonderful...the treatment my wife receives on a regular basis has been life changing. We cannot speak more highly of Hunter Pain Specialists.
Dr Marc Russo claims to be a professor in pain management. That is a joke! If you are in pain do not see him. Keeping you in pain is how he makes his money. I had a Radiofrequency Facet Join Denervation. He did Left side on day one and the Right side on day two. From the first procedure I woke up screaming in pain, begging for help. I cried the whole 15 mins before I could leave. I asked for pain relief as I could barely move and his nurse said ‘Dr Russo does not prescribe pain medication’ just take Panadol. In tears after my appointment. After expressing my frustration that my pain keeps being written off as fibromyalgia, when I have certain symptoms that don't align, and fibromyalgia is a diagnosis of exclusion; Dr Marc Russo proceeded to tell me that my brain is "just wired differently," referencing things like my insomnia since childhood, and told me that it doesn't matter if we call it fibromyalgia or something else. Saw Mark Russo and was bitterly disappointed by his attitude and non treatment. Previously, I'd been under the care of a pain specialist in Sydney, who was amazing, and with the correct pain medication, I was able to function and lose a LOT of weight by gentle exercise and swimming.
