I reluctantly agreed to attend the pain clinic some time ago due to a cervical condition and was desperate to get better. The clinic is out of their depth to manage complex chronic pain conditions. My diagnosis by Dr Russo was completely flawed and was sumised in a brief 5 minute visit. I even tried a second time to understand how he could help and how he proposed to help before undergoing a procedure. He could not articulate well enough the second time and I declined his services. Subsequently his report was only based on t... read more

Saw 'Dr' Volshenk twice, now nearly 3.5-4yrs ago with a referral for stronger pain medication for my spinal injury. I was specifically sent by my NTD for stronger S8 medication as the dosage I was on wasnt helping. I was told as he came in the room after looking at me for exactly 10 seconds and stated. "Im not giving you drugs!!" Obviously solely based on my appearance. Now 4yrs later i am still on the same dosage as I was, I am looking at a second spinal surgery and my life has been destroyed by this injury. The mismanageme... read more

I first saw Doctor Russo after I started seeing a new GP 18 months ago. My new GP stated I needed to see a Pain Specialist to evaluate what was the best treatment for my chronic back pain. Although I have severe Osteoarthritis in many joints I have learned to cope with the daily pain, my sciatic pain did not ease and with no relief for the last 10 years, I had had enough. Dr Russo did try a few things to see if I received any relief but in the end he said the last resort was a Spinal stimulator, I said yes, let's do it, as I... read more

They don't seem to not know the difference between CRPS (already diagnosed too and shared with them), and standalone central sensitisation. Did not see the Dr Russo for very long either, didnt seem to help though. He has hassled me about why I taken so long to come and come so far from home to see him (over 500km). Even asked why him, and I explained I'd read articles about crps with his name, so i wanted to come to him for knowledgeable advice, then didnt say much else to me. They knew I'd taken heaps of medications too at ... read more

I’ll admit, at first I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews. But as they say, you shouldn’t believe everything you read. Dr Russo was polite, honest, and really caring. He took the time to clearly explain what was causing my pain and why surgery was needed. I never felt rushed and felt reassured throughout the appointment. I would definitely recommend Dr Russo.
