Hunter Mountain is best known as a ski mecca, but in the summer and fall you can also take advantage of the Hunter Mountain Skyride, the longest chairlift in the Catskills (over one mile long). It travels from the base to the summit of Hunter Mountain, with magnificent views of the Berkshire Mountains in Massachusetts, Green Mountains of Vermont and the surrounding Catskills. It lifts you up 1600 feet to see the breathtaking views of the neighboring mountain ranges. Admission: $8 ages 13 and up, $6 ages 7-12.

My go to ski resort. Terrain for everyone.
Great place for winter sporting, nice atmosphere, good parking, friendly employees, and everyone seems to be having a good time. One star removed because they close early and they gouge you on food and drink prices but it's a fun day overall.
Solid ski experience for a day. Trails are somewhat limited and not too many lifts exist in this small NE mountain. The staff was very helpful and they make a point to load six skiers at a time which helps with lines. The food is typical low-quality high-price food, but the pizza is decent. I wish they improved that aspect. Overall a decent option not too far from NYC.
We had a wonderful visit! Our ski experience was such a wonderful time. The staff and instructor made this a trip to remember. Thank you for your kindness and professionalism.
