Room was clean and the fella at the desk was helpful. The building has seen some years and is a little beat up, so I can't give it 5 stars. But for the price and what it is, it's worth the stay. The attached restaurant had good breakfast as well.
I've been flood relief volunteering the last few months and have had to stay in a motel on several occasions. The Hunter Inn was actually an upgrade from the typical mainstream chains at a competitive price. The room was clean and the bed was top-shelf. It might appear as a outdoorsman hotel but it is a nice place with a friendly environment. The Hunter Cafe breakfast lives up to its legendary reputation by locals. 5☆ Hill Country cooking. Y'all come back now!
This is a local, home style cafe. Even the decor is from that time period. I had the two egg breakfast and OMG it was so delicious. Have not had a breakfast like this in some time. Also, very attentive water staff. Will definitely return.
