Quality primary care can be very difficult to get in Washoe. There are too few providers with too many patients. The care is reactive. With Dr. Mathis, the experience is completely different. Dr. Mathis focuses not on sickness but on wellness. He is very personable, asks good questions and listens to you. He tailors care plans to you and your needs. He returns our calls immediately, he takes a long time explaining things in a manner that we understand, and he’s always following up on medical issues long after we’ve visited or spoken to him. Dr. Chris Mathis is like having your very own personal doctor. He is always available and returns your calls and texts promptly. When you are in his office with him he takes the time to talk and explain everything to you so you understand what is going on. He always answers any questions and is always reachable! I would recommend everyone to Dr. Mathis.
I would give Dr. Mathis 10 stars if I could! With him you are not just a number. He truly cares about your health and well being. Twelve years ago he strongly encouraged me numerous times to stop smoking, and while I was the one who had to ultimately decided to do it, he was with me every step of the way in that journey.
