I highly recommend this wonderful, independent restaurant in Newbury's market place and urge people to give it a try. It's a real gem and deserves to be busier! The food is delicious, the staff attentive and friendly and the ambience is lovely with a high skylight roof, some tables overlooking the canal, and windows which open wide in the summer.
Lovely meal, very nice service and pleasant atmosphere with the pianist playing. There’s more than just pasta on offer but it was some of the best we’ve ever had.
If you’re into spending �19 on three wafer-thin shards of ravioli drowning in sauce, Gourmet Pasta might be your thing. The pasta was paper-thin and barely filled, overwhelmed by a pool of sauce clearly designed to force you into buying their overpriced bread just to mop it up. Not to mention the charming addition of a couple complimentary head hairs—a garnish, perhaps?
My boyfriend and I did the pasta making class here and we had a great time, we had a drink on arrival and then our set menu choices were taken, the class was about 1h30 long, booking said to be there for 6:30pm promptly but the class doesn’t start until 7pm (I assume that’s to give them time to get everyone’s menu choices etc) the teacher was lovely too and we made 3 types of pasta which you get to take home Then the same area of the restaurant was flipped and we all ate our dinner there, food was incredible, genuinely the ... read more
