Hughes landscaping and particularly Tim Gardner and his crew were great. We had five 30 ft trees in the front and several more not as tall in the front and back that reduced our yard to dirt over the years and were heavily involved in the wires along the street. Tim coordinated and oversaw the whole thing. He coordinated with Pepco and ground out stumps and roots and regraded and drained our yard both front and back. He had the whole thing planned. 2024 Update: We remain very happy with Hughes Landscaping. Tim Gardner is our project manager; he is such a pro and works so well with both us as homeowners and his crews (many of whom have been here at our house year after year). We highly recommend Hughes Landscaping for all your yard needs--tree work, hardscaping, landscaping, regular lawn mowing. It's a pleasure to have them here! We are big fans of Hughes Landscaping!

I was a customer of Hughes for years for lawn maintenance service. This year, out of the blue, I received an impersonal letter stating that my account was being referred to another provider due to “lack of staff” to do the work. However, several neighbors on my street also use Hughes and they were not dropped. When I called to clarify I was told that lawn-only customers were being referred elsewhere. Had Hughes Landscape revamp our outdoor space. To start, Tim, the project manager I worked with is a class act. Great customer care from start to finish. The crew was also careful, competent, and considerate. They put down excellent sod all around the house that has taken perfectly to the ground. They also made a flagstone patio in the backyard that looks awesome. We also added some plants and old tree removal. The whole process working with them was easy and I highly recommend!

After evaluating several contractors, we chose to work with Hughes Landscaping on multiple small and large hardscape projects at our home in Darnestown and have been favorably impressed with the craftsmanship, price, professionalism, and overall management of each project. We've received numerous compliments on the finished products and are now enjoying them immensely. Highly recommended.
