I have lived in a Hubb building for quite some time (6+ years I think) and each year is worse than the rest. You get a key fob, that is for the building and your front door. You can install another lock, but you have to pay for a new door if you leave and take it. Also if you get locked out it is a disaster! If it is after hours, they send a locksmith with a universal fob and you're charged 280 bucks! Also, they can open your door from their office, which is scary. Hubb leased the commercial space at the 1st floor of 205 Middleton in Brooklyn without informing any of the building residents. Since September of last year, the tenants who live on the second floor right above the space has been dealing with loud parties happening downstairs every weekend. Lowering this down to a one-star. Down to no elevators in a seven-floor building after months with one. No live-in super. Locks that run out of battery. Packages are picked up by porch pirates on a regular. A rotating crew of doormen fired at a whim. My heating unit and window remained unfixed for half a year. LUXURY BUILDING? I got a bridge to sell you. We live in a TENEMENT.
1582 1st Ave which HUBB NYC manages, has roaches in it. Basement floor where laundry and trash is, has a chronic roach problem and they get into m unit which is basement / 1st floor. I have opened what feels like nearly a dozen tickets over the months ; the exterminator comes and sprays but they are not treating the source just putting a band aid on it and they only come once a month. I am sick of it. Would not recommend renting from one of their properties.
