It was a huge mistake to discontinue their previous format. I have had accounts since 1974 when it was Marine Midland. I enjoyed reliable service until it became more of an investment bank and would close out all my accounts there if I wasn't such a creature of habit . I still may because this branch is inconvenient for me.
HSBC told me they would only open the account if I maintain at least $100,000. They would not open an account with less than that
