I have always liked H&R block and have used it for well over 10 years. The PC Based Version. And I understand that the Pandemic has left many companies struggling to adapt. But this year the H&R Block software has an issue with the KEY. The number you get when you purchase the software. Since now you do not get a CD but you do get a card inside the software case with the KEY number. You then download the software and when you go to file you enter the key. I recently had H&R Block do my tax returns which was a simple short form. I was charged $220 for this service which I thought was a bit costly. I spoke to an ex employee of H&R Block about this and I was told I should have been charged $169. Next year I will look for someone else to do my taxes.

Because of the pandemic, my wife and I dropped off our paperwork for our taxes to be filed, 2.5 weeks of waiting to hear back, and we call to find out that they had a few questions but had never reached out. Sent in the form in which they required, and gave them another week still without any contact. For the last 20plus years a CPA firm has been doing my taxes. Wanted to get one nearer home, so I tried Block. Block charged twice the price CPA firm ALWAYS had refund direct deposited, Asked Block to do the same. Never happened. IRS says they mailed the check. Asked office to mail this, and previous years returns back to me 2 weeks ago, Naver happened. IRS doesn't have curent direct deposit info now so stimulus checks will be delayed as well!\BAck to CPA outfit!,

I spoke to a person who identified herself as the manager. She refused to honor a $25 gift certificate for returning customers, and was exceedingly rude to me, hanging up in the middle of the conversation, and refused to take my calls afterwards. The employees would not give me her name.

I completed my taxes online and then had an H & R agent review my taxes. I paid extra to have this completed. When they returned by taxes for me to review they billed me for more money. The office that looked at my taxes could not figure out how to take this extra fee off. I waited over 3 weeks and they could not figure it out. So, then the office charged me another fee for them to do them in their office and send them to me, which I had to pay if I wanted my taxes back, so I paid it. I called customer service over ten times about my Emerald Card not working when i go to use it at the store or pay a bill. the agents put you on hold for a very long time and they don't tell you what they are going to do, they just put you on hold. they seem to have no clue as to what they are doing and they keep repeating themselves over and over. they do not have good listening skills and they basically are there for a pay check because after 11-12 calls i still received no help and my issue was never resolved! I have been a software user for six years. Each year when I have an issue, I call the customer service line and have to wait at least an hour each time to get to talk to someone who cannot solve my issue and who transfers me to another department where I have to wait at least another hour, only to be disconnected. This year is the worst. I ordered a backup CD with my Premium software (6 weeks ago) and I have called at least ten times to find out when I would be receiving it. I had a appointment with H & R Block to file my taxes. I explained to the senior tax analyst, at the Highway 96, Franklin, TN office, that I had previous tried to file online and was unsure of the result I received stating I owed money this year, and in previous years I always received a refund, so I wanted a professional to make sure it was correct before I filed.
