Absolute waste of my time and money. I went with H&R Block to get tax advice and I received none from Belinda. I would've saved a lot more money if I just did my own taxes. I will never use this service again
Worked with Belinda. Was told I wouldn't owe anything. Had 3 1099s from smaller gigs and a single w2 from my 'main' employment. Was charged more from h&r block than I owed, but despite being told I wouldn't owe anything on first glance, I still owed around $150. Absolutely ridiculous. Also arrived 15 minutes early and waited a full hour to be seen. She had the gall to tell me no, that it wouldn't be filed for free and that I should've filed online instead....after the fact. Last year my son went to H&R Block and paid $169 ($150 for the federal form and $70 for the state form). He received a $51 discount. He had two W2’s, one 1099R and one 1098E. This year he had one W2, one 1099 Int and two 1098E’s. Both years he had four documents. 15 minutes later his taxes were complete at a cost of $304. That equates to over $1,200 an hour. Really?! I always try to be fair when writing my reviews but this is absolutely ridiculous. I dropped off my 2023 tax return before the April 15th deadline and have been trying to get in contact with my tax preparer and have had no luck. I have only received an email from them and a voicemail. I have called and emailed several times for an update and gotten no response. Does anyone care to reply back to emails and return phone messages? I guess not because it’s not you that could possibly owe the government it’s not you that is on a ... read more
