Last year my son went to H&R Block and paid $169 ($150 for the federal form and $70 for the state form). He received a $51 discount. He had two W2’s, one 1099R and one 1098E. This year he had one W2, one 1099 Int and two 1098E’s. Both years he had four documents. 15 minutes later his taxes were complete at a cost of $304. That equates to over $1,200 an hour. Really?! I always try to be fair when writing my reviews but this is absolutely ridiculous. I dropped off my 2023 tax return before the April 15th deadline and have been trying to get in contact with my tax preparer and have had no luck. I have only received an email from them and a voicemail. I have called and emailed several times for an update and gotten no response.
