I think the tax associates here need more training or CPE courses. They are very unknowledgeable. I was told because my dependent was not my blood child, it is illegal to claim them, and I would be audited. I've worked for a CPA Firm for 2 1/2 years, so I know that what they said is not at all correct. They made an error on my taxes two consecutive years causing me to owe additional money well after the fact. Scheduled an appointment over the phone, realized as I arrived they scheduled it for a different location (partially my fault for not looking at the confirmation text but they definitely stated the wrong location over the phone).
