H&R Block is fine but the North Port office is horrible. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a very rude woman behind the counter who looked up at me and said sit down we'll get to you as soon as we can. She said something about somebody calling in sick. I looked around and there were more people there than there were cubicles in the office so obviously they overbooked. Was quoted $270 for a 1040SR with just retirement distributions and SS income, thanks but no thanks. Went home, completed and submitted it electronically via FreeTaxUSA in about an hour, simple and actually FREE! Save your money and don't waste your time.
Terrible service, constant up-selling. It is impossible to downgrade if you make one wrong move. Very shady service. DO NOT TRUST H&R BLOCK!
We will never do business with H&R Block, especially the North Port office. We went to them to have a simple short form filed for us. We have been doing business with H&R Block for years. This time a regular agent was off sick. So we were assigned to an older female. We are both retired, drawing social security. She was not very client friendly, but she said she had it done and it would be filed electronically. We always have a refund coming because we depend on it as a savings account.
