I’ve been with them for a few years now and very unsatisfied with their service. Every time I file with them I have to wait all year because something comes up every time.

This will be my last year using H&R Block. The only reason I paid their exorbitantly high filing fees was to have access to the advances. My taxes are very simple to do. Just a W2. I was charged $335 to file my taxes. In December, I did the Early Advance Loan and only got $650. Less than what I got last year! I went yesterday to officially file my taxes and I applied for the advance they give to people. I was declined! How in the world! Very disappointed with the Emerald Advance Loan this year. Got a card in the mail saying, get qualified for up to 1300 dollars back. I got HALF of that (650). That's 150 less than last year! How the amount is approved is beyond me. Maybe when they enter what you need it for which I was rushed through. I've been going here for years but that obviously counts for nothing. What a waste of my time! Will not be back next year! Would probably get even less anyway.

I had Steve Couch as my specialist and was happy with how simple and straightforward the process was. Super easy to talk to and discussed any questions or concerns I had. I felt he upheld his duty as a fiduciary which is extremely important to me when dealing with a financial professional.
