Avoid H&R Block for tax filing. This isn’t about one specific location — the issue is with H&R Block overall. Their staff seem to rely entirely on the software without really understanding the tax process. I’ve filed with them twice, and I’m still dealing with IRS audits related to my IRA because of their mistakes.
If I could give a negative star, I would. I received a notice back in November of 2024 regarding a possible assessment from the DOR for our 2021 tax return. I made multiple attempts to contact a tax rep at HR block, with ZERO response. When I did finally get ahold of someone, probably 1.5 months later, I was told we needed to file an amended return, as there was a missing W2 on the original return and we had to pay almost $400 back to the DOR.
