The Block guarantee is "no surprises": all fees transparent and up-front. But my fees shot up by $305, with no warning or explanation (though my circumstances hadn't changed). That was surprising. Obviously. Among these new fees was a $40 fee just for noting down a $1 transaction. Most would be surprised at that. (The issue isn't whether H&R Block had a right to charge it. I had a very poor experience with H&R Block. Their communication throughout my tax process was unacceptable. I called several times to ask if there was anything else I needed to provide, and each time I was not given clear or complete information. Then, on the tax due date, I received a message saying they could not process my return due to missing information. Because of lack of communication, I now have to file an extension. Despite this, they still want to charge me $99 for their service. I expect better professionalism a... read more
I orignally booked a meeting with a Tax rep due to having issues with some of my taxes I already prepared. However, I called in prior to my appointment to confirm if I indeed need to meet someone to avoid wasting anyone's time. I spoke with Mrs. E.Sterling, and she was able to answer my questions I had and gave me the information I needed to file confidently. Thank you for you support!
