I’ve been to the 362 Bloor Street location twice, and both times I’ve left feeling absolutely appalled. The first time I visited was in June when I had asked for help with a complex application. Reception asked me to take a seat, after 30 minutes I hear the reception inform the Tax “Professional” (her name is Dawn) about my case. I hear Dawn reply back “Oh I will avoid that as long as I can… break it to him gently” (I was seated no more than 2 feet from them). Very poor customer service, I was directed to book an appointment for my specific tax situation at this HQ office since my local H&R block didn't have the expertise. I received a call back denying my request for consultation without any explanation or understanding of the situation, even though I was directed by another H&R block office to consult with them. What's worse is that I believe they gave me bad advise regarding my tax situation in a rush.
I went this morning to file a complicated tax return in Canada and was assigned with an advisor named Suki. When I arrived, I heard Suki speaking very rudely to a customer on the phone. As I entered her office, she immediately noted she could not help me because she expressed I did not have all the right documents. This was confusing to me because I had been coming here for years and had printed all my documents with me, with the exception of one US tax document which I had on my laptop with me. Set up a 2 pm appointment with a specific individual because of the complexity of my filing (this was recommended by the front desk staff member and booked over the phone). Arrived 10 minutes early. I indicated that I had a 2pm appointment with the front desk staff who was not the person I talked to on the phone earlier in the week.
