Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience with this location’s HR block. I hate to leave bad reviews in general but we spent 2 hours (two separate 1 hour appointments) and felt like our tax preparer wasn’t prepared to answer most of our questions and couldn’t give us clear answers. We were told initially that filing our taxes would be around $300 but during our last appointment, we were shown an invoice of over $600. None of this was told upfront. I went to the hr block office in short pump. Two years in a row. Horrible experience. Felt like I was dealing with people that did not know a thing about taxes. Both years felt rushed and there was a huge oversight even admitted to mistake last year but rushed thru saying he will take care of it and it was the head person in office and nothing was done. Will never return to HR Block.
My tax specialist, Mr. Waddah, had no idea that you can deduct traditional Ira, he was pretty insistive it wasn’t possible. I lost an hour for nothing. He sent me to the other H n R block about 20 mins down the street. Lady there was very helpful and did confirm its tax deductible. I am basically out of 1 hour. Plus it makes me think twice if I will use h N R next year for my taxes, I have used them since 2010.
I realized that my tax pro filed my tax wrong for 2022. I will have to fix it myself. No refund. No accountability. No real suggestion to amend the situation and I paid for the peace of mind package. It has been a nightmare and waste of money.
