While I was speaking with my tax preparer, I noticed that two front desk staff members were listening to my private conversation. This was my second time using H&R Block, and unfortunately, it will be my last. The appointment was disorganized, as I had to be moved multiple times because of multiple computer issues. When we finally got to the numbers, I was told my refund would be almost entirely eaten up by their $89 fee. When my father asked for clarification on where the money was going, the explanation about the 'standard deduction' didn't seem to account for the low return. Zero stars actually because it was the worst experience I have ever had. Waited over an hour, no "sorry to keep you waiting" nothing. Then everything I presented to be documented I was told I could not use because it wouldn't make a difference. I had the same deductions for itemized before. Go figure. I would never use H and R Block or the preparer even if they were my only option, never. She talked more about herself and kept getting distracted. it was a total nuisance.
