My experience with H&R Block was very poor. The young man handling my tax prep wasn't good at explaining things. He did not know about a certain threshold for filing one form and had to ask questions of another person. He also did not explain any of the costs involved for tax preperation, just the costs of all the extra services they offer, for which I had no need. Horrible service. I was on time but forced to wait around for 30 minutes to meet with a different tax “pro” than the one I was booked with. The “pro” I was working with spoke two words to me the whole time, tried to sneak in charging me for a complex return (I had a simple return) and skipped over explaining my refund. I had to catch an error for him that would have cost me over $1,000. I was a repeat customer but I will never return to H&R after this experience.
