The Houston Chronicle's subscription rate is outrageous. When I called about the increase for delivery, they told me they would leave the rate as it was. However, when recently billed, it had increased $6.95 for a "premium subscription." I called. However, three calls later, no one could explain why it had increased other than to say I'd agreed to it. After 50+ years of being a Chronicle subscriber, I have to question why anyone would pay the subscription rates for a paper that includes 2 sections and of the two, multiple pa... read more

I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND the Houston Chronicle. This is by far a huge scam. They promise you coupons and savings, in most cases for things not many people use. When it comes time to cancel, they tell you it is cancelled then your account will be charged again. You can speak to customer service and they will tell you again it is cancelled, but it isn't. I cancelled my subscription in late March, early April before the next renewal. Come late April, I was charged. Spoke to customer service to cancel my subscription and today ... read more

TRIED TO CANCEL E-EDITION. CAN ONLY DO IT BY CALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SPEAKING TO A REPRESENTATIVE. YOU GET PUT ON HOLD FOR A VERY LONG TIME, 7 TO 15 MINUTES, THEN CALL DISCONNECTS (THIS HAPPENED 4 TIMES). ON TWO OCCASIONS A PERSON ANSWERED, THEN BOTH TIMES PUT ME ON HOLD, THEN BOTH TIMES THE CALL DISCONNECTED. A DEVIOUS SCAM TO KEEP DIGITAL SUBSCRIPTIONS FROM BEING CANCELLED. HAD TO STOP CREDIT CARD. BUYER BEWARE WITH THIS UNSCRUPULOUS BUSINESS

I paid for Sunday delivery and one month later I have not gotten a paper. I have called and e-mailed repeatedly with no results!

Do not recommend buying a subscription from the Houston Chronicle. They will not deliver the correct amount of papers and they will still charge you. They will change your subscription without notice. The customer service is horrible. I was a life long customer with them but finally said no more. The amount of lies and promises of my paper being delivered on time is ridiculous. Don’t bother talking to a manager because they just lie and say it’s taken care of when it’s not. Highly recommend you don’t purchase this paper it’s... read more
