Been on waiting list for 12 months each time I call to enquire get told nothing can do have had enough of waiting, feel helpless

My father is in need of a place to live very shortly because his 99 year old mother died and the house is to be sold, housing said he isn't eligible because he "still has a roof over his head and to contact them when that changes" So you actually want people to be homeless and on the street before you will even do an assessment or offer assistance or a place to live. Pathetic. And to suggest he use any inheritance to pay for private rent is abhorrent, it won't be much and it will need to last
